Orange Aventurine Earrings
These earrings are cut from a beautiful orange aventurine! I picked this out of a bucket at Handley’s rock shop in WA. Arlene Handley probably bought a crate of it in Tuscon from a rock wholesaler who probably bought it from miners in India. Aventurine is metamorphosed sandstone and this stuff probably formed in the last 30 million years when India collided with the Asian continent.
The stones are 32mm wide and hang 58mm on hammered sterling silver wire. The earrings weigh 4 grams each.
